Our brewing history
The All Nations Inn opened in 1789 under the ownership of the Baguley Family (pictured left) and brewing first commenced in 1832.
The Baguley family were also builders having been responsible for construction of numerous local railway stations in the area. The Baguleys ran the pub for a whopping 103 years!
In the 1930s came the Lewis family, who only managed double digits of (a still very impressive) 66 years running the pub.
By this point the All Nations Inn was a famous long-established brewpub, long associated with licensee Mrs Eliza Lewis, who famously only drank tea. The only beer brewed at this time was a light mild ale.
By the 1970s, this was one of the four surviving brewpubs in the United Kingdom.
She was followed by her son-in-law Keith Hardman who brewed for 25 years before his retirement.
After Keith’s retirement, the pub was purchased by Linda and Jim Birtwhistle in 2002, and brewing restarted on site in 2003 by Mike Handley of Worfield, later Shires, Brewery.
When Mike retired, the 10-barrel plant was refurbished before re-opening in 2016 with Andrew Brough of Brough’s Brewery. Andrew has extended the range of beers, including Dabley (the original name of Coalport Road) Gold, which won the CAMRA 2024 Wolverhampton Beer Festival!
